I rewatched a very good movie "Julia and Julie". If you haven't seen it, its about Julia Child and a girl that was totally inspired by her and started a blog for one year cooking every recipe in Julia Childs cookbook. She did accomplish the task and of course it was a happy ending......
So back to me. I thought I would start a blog and since I also am a person that doesn't follow thru with anything .....no let me rephrase that. I finish a job and do it very well for others. Commissions... etc. I see other artist doing the same thing for years and that is not what I have done I keep changing my ideas because I like to learn new things. But it has gotten me nowhere.
Anyway I have been going thru a very dry patch in my life for over 5 years and need to get inspired. I am an artist. A very good one at that. Also I can do just about anything else. But I won't bore you with all the details. I do have another Blog of my artwork. I have been a self-employed artist all my life, raised a great family and I am 62 yrs old...... and living alone.
My inspirations have come from other artist such as Gustav Klimt. Alphonse Mucha. Georgia O'Keefe and some other more recent artist.
I would also like to get this out of the way..... I am not a writer and I definitely hate correct grammer and punctuation and if it wasn't for spell check Im not sure if you could read this.... So if there are misspelled words and no commas or apostrophes...forget it.. doesn't matter . OK?
So today is the first day of my new blog and I am sitting drinking coffee in my kitchen looking at a new magazine MILIUE and trying to get inspired.
Let me tell you a bit about myself. One reason I am so uninspired is because I had a big house, compared to the one I am living in now. And I sold it when the market was still down. Now I am renting and the market is HIGH so I can not do anything nor do I have a studio that is my biggest loss. I have learned alot since then. At this point in my life I don't take ANYTHING for GRANTED.
I am very grateful for all that I have and all my family and friends.
Studio........I need one. Let me tell you the mediums I have worked in. I am a painter. I have painted on canvas, walls, Large outdoor brick walls for Murals, public mural displays. I have also done large glass mosiacs for public display.
I have made a tile mural that is part of a public park. I have painted in private homes. I am a seamstress, a carpenter, I have welded steel and alumium.
I am a stained glass window maker. Mosaic glass sculpture. Ceramic tile maker.
The one thing I am not is someone that promotes myself and gets out there and gets the jobs. I am also not good at PRICING I have undersold myself many many times.....I am not rich nor do I have expensive things I have lived well on little.
This is not a blog to complain or cry to a void out in space. I just want my readers to relate to what ever is going on in their lives.
Something I would like to do with this blog . Show you what I can do and in doing so possibly help someone else or teach you how to do waht you have been wanting to do all your life and be inspired and that will also inspire me.
OR possibly someone else can teach me!!
