So yesterday I got some of my art supplies out and as I mentioned I do not have a studio to work in like so many people do. If there is anyone that needs a studio or deserves a BIG AWESOME STUDIO its ME!!! I have created so many things in my kitchen and in my bedroom ( without a bed) and now in another kitchen. This one is even smaller.
So I get out a pack of 8x10" canvas's and think I will start small then maybe something will happen I'll get in the groove. Ok So I say what the heck am I going to paint ? OH Sharon JUST PAINT I say to myself. Ok I found a nice barn photo a friend took so I started there. Got out the colors I like and started in with acrylics............Nope didn't like it ........almost threw it out. Said WHY AM I DOING THIS? What is it for? nobody buys anything. I am tired of making shit to sell and keeping prices under $50 . I am a great artist,
I should make thousands!
Ok shut up......so I got out my craypas.... (crayons/watercolors) then tried to liven up the painting. That was fine but still kind of flat no texture. So then I get out my OIL Pastels....Now we are talking I started just slapping it on thick and scribbling the colors together it created good texture and it was FUN!! It had gotten so late that I was hungry and tired by then and only did the sky in this small painting.

I was looking forward to painting today on my Day Off
work but got a call to come in.......Crap. the day got away and I didn't work on it.
Oh well.
Tonight I go to the Circle of Arts Holiday Market and see what other artist had done. There is art out there that has gotten so lowered in quality, why?
I will tell you WHY its because of all the crap we can get from CHINA it has totally ruined the American Artist~ Do Not Lower your Standards and sell your art cheap to have someone buy it!!! Do WHAT YOU LOVE no matter if it's for sale or not! I believe I have very good taste and I have lost my quality and creativity because I am always thinking "WHAT WILL SELL?"
